Waterton
This trip was also designed to see bears ( they've all just come out of hibernation) the whole weekend passed without a single sighting. Until we returned to the RV from a lovely walk ready to make the journey home. As we rounded a corner in thr road a big grissly could be seen in the verge to our left. Kevin jumped out, camera in hand and was at one point just a few meters away before fear got the better of him!! We wew also luck enough to see a moose with her baby emerge from the lake whilst we sat taking in the view! All in all a fantastic canadian weekend away.

Lake Louise
Lake Louise as seen from the ski slopes.
On the way back, we we very lucky and saw a moose, standing in a stream 70-80m from the road. Sadly, a passing local informed us that it was stood in the water as it was trying to evade a wolf pack which was hunting it. A closer look at the photo shows a red wound on one of it's front legs where the wolves had already attacked it. Apparently they were waiting beyond the treeline, ready for the moment that the cold forced the moose from the river.

Cypress Hills
Harrys had his Nana visit for a couple of weeks, so is getting plenty of cuddles & attention. Plus we're getting the help with the washing, hoovering, cleaning & cooking!!
So after a week confined to Ralston, we decided to venture to nearby Cypress Hills this weekend for a much needed change of scenery. We left Saturday morning with the snow starting to fall. By the time we got to our dest
ina
tion the snow was getting quite deep & driving conditions were quite interesting. We hoped the drive back wouldn't be so bad. However the snow continued throughout the night meaning we had to dig the car out before we could come home.
