This weekend, we got away for a short break into the Rockies, staying at the Chateau Lake Louise Hotel. The hotle is very opulent, and the view from our room was incredible (right).Lake Louise as seen from the ski slopes.
On the way back, we we very lucky and saw a moose, standing in a stream 70-80m from the road. Sadly, a passing local informed us that it was stood in the water as it was trying to evade a wolf pack which was hunting it. A closer look at the photo shows a red wound on one of it's front legs where the wolves had already attacked it. Apparently they were waiting beyond the treeline, ready for the moment that the cold forced the moose from the river.
